First Look At The Kia Seltos
2020 is looking to be an exciting year for car buyers, as a number of automakers have decided to expand their SUV lines into subcompact territory and Kia is adding their unique style to the mix with the upcoming 2021 Seltos.
Size-wise the Seltos is the next step up from the Soul; however, it takes a lot of its design elements from the new Telluride making it something of a little brother to the design. Featuring a nice blend of aggressively angular styling and a refined aesthetic ensures that it will fit in nicely on city streets or snow-covered back roads, much like the Telluride itself. As is rapidly becoming the norm in modern vehicles, the Seltos features either a 7.5” or 10” infotainment system (depending on trim level) that pairs with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration right out of the gate. Depending on which trim level you go with the Seltos can also be home to a wireless phone charging pad, a Bose sound system and a 7” instrument display cluster to boot.
At the time of writing Kia has been somewhat tight-lipped on all the safety features that go into the Seltos but a few things have been revealed. The Seltos will feature Kia’s suite of driver assistance tech which includes blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning and pedestrian detection with built-in automatic emergency braking. Note that the inclusion of some of these features will be determined by which trim level you ultimately pick.
In defiance of its smaller size, the Seltos manages to keep its interior spacious with room for a total of five adults and a range of interior trims to go with your stylistic tastes. Kia took interior customization a step further with the higher-level trim packages offering a slick Sound Mood Lighting System which allows you to adjust the lighting that comes out of the Seltos’s speakers; yep, you read that right the fancier models get colour-changing speakers!
While we still don’t know the exact date that the new Seltos will be hitting our lot we can tell you it will be releasing in 2020 so keep an eye out for new additions to our inventory soon. Want to learn more about what the Seltos has to offer? Check out the full brochure here.
